BlissPoint aggregates the best of this thinking and adapts it to the gathering of research information. As an example, consumer decision making used to be thought of as a sequential funnel. Now, however, it is considered a loop where there are many paths to choice and technology allows easy access to information and other consumers’ experiences to guide decision making. BlissPoint works with clients to understand how this decision making process works in their industry and asks the appropriate questions to assist clients to elicit the behaviour they want from the market.
Behavioural Economist have shown how consumers act irrationally and have very little insight into the reasons behind their behaviour. The implication for research is that you cannot simply ask a consumer “why?” BlissPoint works with clients to identify the drivers of behaviour. These are then measured and their relationship to the behaviour identified. Clients can then assess the appropriate action.

IT’S MORE THAN JUST DATA
The ability to provide large amounts of information in a simplified, interactive form has changed the way that research tracking is delivered. By building online dashboards the delivery of 'the numbers' has fundamentally changed. What would have traditionally been a large powerpoint presentation is condensed into a few or several pages. As an example, 120 charts can be presented in 6 pages of four charts with five filters. Blisspoint works with a number of partners to provide this solution to clients. This does not negate the need for clear consulting advice - it frees up resources to deliver more thinking.
The increasing capability of survey instruments to provide interactive forms of questions allows for a greater ability to simulate decisions making. The ability to display examples of offers (hover over or click and see) means that respondents are better informed to answer questions. Platforms that allow for online communities are efficient for their purpose and where suitable facial recognition is valuable in assessing communication development.
All of these developments, used wisely, assist in the reliability of research - but in the first instance they need to be implemented on the basis of 'fit for purpose'.
